STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, the first in Cuyahoga County, is now open. The quick-service restaurant, at 12380 Pearl Road in a former Burger King, welcomed its first customers at 10:30 a.m., about a year after the project was announced.
For the uninitiated, the chain is known for its 1950s vibes and a menu that serves burgers, thin-cut fries, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, chili, onion rings, plus a patty melt and veggie burger. The dessert offerings, featuring Freddy’s thick and decadent custard, are just as tempting with five signature sundaes and concretes. Diners can also choose from 30 toppings to build their own sweet treat.
The building, which sat empty for several years after the Burger King closed, has been completely remodeled. It features a dining room with seating for 48, a small patio and a drive-thru lane. The restaurant, however, is drive-thru only for at least the first week to 10 days. The hours are 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, according to Freddy’s website.
